An $0.80 Survivor Flip Step Satellite put Brazilian streamer Marcelo Cartana (“CartanaPoker”) on a path to a $2,650 No-Limit Hold'em Venom entry during Americas Cardroom's October Dual Venom series. The ACR Stormer cleared $6, $46 and $350 steps, then turned his seat into a 158th-place finish worth approximately $8,367 in prize money and bounties.
Cartana reached Day 2 with more than 100 big blinds. His journey was among several community stories unfolding around the dual Progressive Knockout (PKO) tournaments, which concluded October 21.
Ukraine's “Pepareg1” also made both final tables on the same day. Third in NLH paid $281,470.65; second in Pot-Limit Omaha brought $164,672.86. The combined $446,143.51 included bounties. Spain's Ignacio Morón (“TIKITAKA11”), a 2021 Venom runner-up, finished ninth in NLH for approximately $78,832.
The PLO result followed a comeback from the shortest stack at a seven-handed final table. Pepareg1 advanced to heads-up play against Mexico's “tigerseyes,” and their deal left regular payouts nearly equal before bounty totals were factored in. Tigerseyes won PLO for $239,819.45, while “PushLightYear” claimed NLH for $536,577.13, both totals including bounties.
Across the two $2,650 buy-in events, the $5 million guaranteed NLH tournament drew 2,143 entries and built a $5,357,500 prize pool; the $1.5 million guaranteed PLO tournament attracted 602 entries and built $1,505,000. Together, the pools stood $362,500 above the $6.5 million combined guarantee.
Venom Specials contributed their own double finalist. On October 19, “RaggedRobin” placed fifth in a $1,050 event for $31,903 and second in a $630 PKO for $28,527, totaling $60,430. Alexandre Vargas (“ilovequeensya”) also took a $109 Venom Special title for $19,347 after outlasting 979 opponents.
The community followed Kick broadcasts, including an October 18 show hosted by ACR Pro Drew Gonzalez. Stormers also streamed on Twitch, and Chris Moneymaker and Rob Kuhn provided commentary for the NLH final-table broadcast.
