Breathe Forward Foundation Launches National Cancer Research Mission with Inaugural "Glow for Hope" Event

PR Newswire

New national nonprofit will support innovative cancer research, including TumorGlow technology, CAR-T cell therapy research and early cancer detection and education.

STATE COLLEGE, Pa., Oct. 3, 2026 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The Breathe Forward Foundation, a newly established nonprofit dedicated to advancing innovative cancer research and education, will host its inaugural Glow for Hope fundraising event on October 24, 2026, at University Wine Company in State College, Pennsylvania.

"Cancer changes the lives of everyone it touches, but research gives families something incredibly powerful: hope." Shelly Williams

For Breathe Forward Co-Founder Shelly Williams, the mission is deeply personal.

"Cancer changes the lives of everyone it touches, but research gives families something incredibly powerful: hope," said Williams. "Breathe Forward is about turning that hope into action by supporting the researchers, technologies and ideas that can change what a cancer diagnosis looks like for the next family."

The event marks the beginning of a broader national mission for the Breathe Forward Foundation: to raise funds annually and direct those resources toward promising cancer research, emerging technologies and education initiatives with the potential to improve cancer detection, treatment and patient outcomes.

The Foundation's initial areas of focus include supporting the advancement of TumorGlow® technology, research into CAR-T cell therapies, and early cancer detection and education.

Glow for Hope will bring together members of the community, physicians, researchers, patients, families and supporters for an evening centered on raising funds and awareness for the next generation of cancer innovation.

Rather than limiting its mission to a single annual event or geographic community, Breathe Forward was created as a national fundraising organization focused on identifying and supporting high-impact opportunities in cancer research and education.

The Foundation intends to use events such as Glow for Hope, individual giving, corporate partnerships and other fundraising initiatives to build a sustainable annual funding platform for cancer innovation.

"We wanted to build something that could grow far beyond one event or one community," said Ryan Williams, Co-Founder of the Breathe Forward Foundation. "There are extraordinary physicians, scientists and entrepreneurs working on technologies that could fundamentally change cancer care. Our goal is to bring people together, raise meaningful dollars every year and help move some of that work forward."

The Foundation's focus on emerging technologies approaches reflects the rapid evolution occurring across cancer care. Advances in fluorescence-guided surgery, cellular therapies such as CAR-T, and earlier detection technologies are creating new possibilities for physicians and patients.

Breathe Forward aims to help accelerate that progress by connecting donors and communities with research and educational initiatives where philanthropic funding can make an impact.

The inaugural Glow for Hope event will take place October 24 at University Wine Company in State College, Pennsylvania. Proceeds from the event will support the Foundation's cancer research and education mission. The proceeds of the event will be funding Tumor Glow research as well as the Mount Nittany Foundation.
