Bennettsville, SC October 13, 2026 --(PR.com)-- Katherine Crosland, of Bennettsville, South Carolina, has been recognized as a Woman of the Month for September 2026 by P.O.W.E.R. (Professional Organization of Women of Excellence Recognized). This distinction recognizes Crosland’s professional accomplishments, perseverance, and dedication to building a successful business while overcoming significant personal and professional challenges.

About Katherine Crosland
Katherine Crosland is the owner of Quality Cleaning and Design LLC, a cleaning company she officially organized in 2023. Focused on precision and excellence, Crosland has continued building the company through hard work, determination, and the sanitation knowledge she developed throughout her career.

Crosland began working at the age of 14 at a small deli. Within two years, she obtained a position with Bi/Lo grocery store, where she worked her way up to assistant evening manager of the deli and bakery. Those early positions provided her with sanitation experience. She also completed an OSHA certification and gained experience maintaining DHEC standards.

Crosland later worked closely with two veterinarians as a surgical veterinary technician. After an injury prevented her from continuing the heavy lifting required in that profession, she changed career paths and used her fitness education to establish Katherine Crosland Fitness Training. Through the business, she helped others make positive lifestyle changes while also helping herself. She later began using her sanitation knowledge to provide professional cleaning services.

During this period, Crosland was privately battling cervical cancer, a fight that lasted 10 years. Last year, the cancer reached her intestines. She also battled breast cancer and is now in remission, with her most recent scans reported as clear. Crosland is also the mother of what she calls her “miracle baby,” who is currently 7 years old.

Crosland has also faced barriers and discrimination as a Lumbee Native American and as a woman. She takes pride in the Lumbee Tribe of North Carolina receiving federal recognition after years of seeking acknowledgment. She believes in honoring those who fought for equality before her and hopes to continue that work while helping bring about peace.

“I was not handed a legacy, but I am building one,” Crosland says. “I had to adapt to what was available to me. I turned obstacles into another chapter of my purpose. My body forced me to change careers, so I built another business. I survived enormous personal battles. I kept working.”

Crosland earned an associate’s degree in applied science/sports medicine. She has also completed certifications in fitness training, medical billing and coding, and x-ray technology, as well as an internship in veterinary nursing.

Outside of work, Katherine runs a kennel called Chief Bullies. She enjoys the outdoors, spending time with her family and her “fur babies,” and the water. She is a member of Prospect Community Church and performs volunteer work in her free time.
