LAUSANNE, Switzerland, Sept. 17, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- The FIVB today revealed the American host cities and venues for the 2027 FIVB Women's Volleyball World Cup, the sport's flagship international tournament. The United States and Canada were announced as host nations in September 2025. Anaheim, California (Honda Center), Omaha, Nebraska (CHI Health Center Arena), and Orlando, Florida (Kia Center) will be among the host cities for the 32-nation tournament. An announcement on the Canadian host cities will follow.
Host cities and venues were selected based on passionate fan bases, world-class venues with seating capacities worthy of a World Cup, strong government and local partner support to ensure exceptional experiences, and markets that can attract new fans and accelerate volleyball's growth across North America.
The Women's Volleyball World Cup will run August 20 – September 5, 2027. Omaha and Orlando will host Pool Play and round-of-16 matches. The Honda Center in Anaheim will host the quarters, semis, and finals in 2027, and then serve as the host venue for the men's and women's indoor volleyball competition for the LA28 Games. Each city brings unique attributes and experiences designed to make this first-ever Women's Volleyball World Cup a spectacle beyond anything the sport has seen before.
"USA Volleyball, Volleyball Canada, and the WVWC27 Local Host Committee are proud to announce a series of 'firsts' for the sport in North America," said Craig Thompson, CEO of the WVWC27 Local Host Committee. "The most modern and professional sport venues to ever host this event, 57 hours of live match and studio coverage, and the finals week at the spectacular OCVIBE district. This World Cup will elevate volleyball in North America to the top level of women's sports, where it belongs."
The Women's Volleyball World Cup arrives in the United States and Canada at a moment of explosive growth for women's volleyball at every level. As the sport's premier international event makes its debut in North America next summer, it will amplify that growth while marking a key step on the road to LA28. The tournament's new format has further raised the stakes, turning it into an Olympic Qualifier, with the top three national teams not yet qualified for the LA28 Games earning their spots. With the Women's Volleyball World Cup taking place just weeks after the FIFA Women's World Cup, 2027 is shaping up to be a landmark year for sports.
ION, E.W. Scripps Company's national sports and entertainment network, will provide 17 days of national coverage, including 19 live matches on national broadcast, 10 hours of studio show coverage, and stream 45 matches. Ticket pricing will be announced in mid-October when the pools are announced.
